What taxes or additional fees apply to my reservation?
In addition to your reservation room rate there is a daily 12% California occupancy tax and a $2.50 local city tax. Upon check-in we do require $50.00/per day authorization for your reservation. This is to cover the cost of any potential incidentals / damages to the room. There is also a $15 per car, per night fee for parking.
What are your check-in / check-out times?
Our check-in time is 4:00 pm and Check-out time is 11:00 am.
Is early check-in available?
Early check-in, prior to 4:00 pm, is available on a request basis. Please call 805.688.3121 to check availability. Early check-in will be noted but is not guaranteed.
Is late check-out available?
Late check-out, after 11:00 am, is available on a request basis for an extra fee. Please call 805.688.3121 for availability and rates.
What is your hotel’s Cancellation Policy?
The Landsby holds to a 72-hour cancellation policy. Reservations cancelled within the 72 hours will be charged the amount of the first night's room rate.
What if I have a last minute emergency or an Act of God prevents me from honoring my reservation?
We understand that emergencies do arise and we ask that you call the hotel directly to discuss the situation.
Do you have breakfast included with your rooms?
Although breakfast is not included with your room rate, we offer a full breakfast menu served daily in our restaurant, Mad & Vin.
Do you have rollaway beds available if I need an extra bed?
We do have a limited quantity of rollaway beds and pack-and-plays available with a one time fee. Please call ahead to request a rollaway when booking, so we may do our best to accommodate your needs.
If I am due a refund, how long until I receive it in my account?
Refunds are processed right away in our system and can vary based on the type of payment that was received. Most US bank Debit and Credit cards should only take about three business days but could take up to 7 business days. Other forms of payment including overseas banks, prepaid credit cards, etc… can take longer. We advise that it is best to contact the specific bank of the card used.
Does your hotel take an additional authorization upon check-in?
The Landsby does require $50.00/per day authorization in addition to the total reservation amount, to be taken upon check-in. This authorization is to cover any potential incidentals or damages in the room during your stay. If no incidentals are charged to the room, this authorization will be released.
How long until the authorization drops from my account?
Authorizations are released from the hotel at the time of check-out, however many banks will hold them up to 3-7 business days before releasing the authorization. Many banks do this to allow the business/merchant to collect the requested funds. We again advise to check with your specific bank about their Authorization rules.
Restaurant and Bar
What is Mad & Vin and what does it mean?
Mad & Vin, is inspired by the local wine region of California's central coast. The name of the restaurant, which translates to “food and wine” in Danish, continues to play off of the hotel’s Scandinavian inspiration. Chef Beto Huizar has developed a specialized menu that captures flavors from around the world and incorporates them into foods native to the area. The restaurant is open for dinner Tuesdays through Sundays in addition to daily breakfast.

Does Mad & Vin have a happy hour?
Mad & Vin offers daily happy hour from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Please see our special happy hour menu with reduced pricing here. We also have Local’s Night on Tuesday where food is 20% off - available in the restaurant only.
Is room service available?
Unfortunately, we do not offer room service at this time. However, we do offer Spoon Service while the bar is open. You can have a delicious pint of McConnell's Fine Ice Cream delivered to your room.
Can I make reservations ahead of time for dinner?
We are delighted to offer easy online reservations through Open Table. You can also call to make reservations at 805.688.3121.
Can I reserve a private dinner area or the outdoor patio for a group?
We do allow the patio area to be reserved for parties of 16-22 persons. We also have a Private Dining Room that can seat 10-12 persons. Please contact us at 805.688.3121 to inquire about reserving private dining.
What is The Landsby, What does it mean?
The Landsby, which means “the village” in Danish, offers an authentic hospitality experience to both visitors and locals. Located in downtown Solvang, a small town in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley, the hotel combines a bright, contemporary design with Scandinavian elements inspired by the town’s Danish roots. Designed by Santa Monica-based design firm, Studio Collective, the hotel incorporates a Scandinavian lodge aesthetic with a design nod to the past. The hotel lobby has been completely reconstructed to add relaxed lounge spaces and a new bar. The bar’s lively atmosphere will be the perfect place for patrons to gather and enjoy a craft cocktail or glass of locally produced wine.
What is your Pet Policy?
The Landsby recognizes the growing needs for pet friendly accommodations and we strive to offer our guests and their pets a comfortable stay. We do have limited room availability for pets and ask that when making your reservation you call the hotel directly to check availability. We allow up to two domesticated dogs per room with a maximum weight of 20lbs and a one-time $75.00 pet cleaning fee due upon check in. Service animals are always welcome. Do you have Wi-fi?
Every guestroom at The Landsby comes with free complimentary Wi-fi.
Where can I park?
There is parking available directly on the property. The parking fee is $15 per car, per night.
Can I have a package sent to the hotel?
Any packages can be sent for you at our address: 1576 Mission Drive, Solvang CA 93463. Please note: "Attention to ‘Front Desk’" and have your full name, reservation confirmation number, and phone number clearly listed on the package.
Do you have a swimming pool at the hotel?
We do not have a swimming pool at our hotel; however our Suite rooms do come with jetted tubs including a two person Jacuzzi tub in our Tower Suite room.
Does your hotel have ADA rooms?
The Landsby does have a limited number of ADA rooms. We advise that you call in to the hotel to make sure we have availability for your dates before booking.
What size are your rooms?
All of our rooms from our Classic up to our Premium Balcony rooms range between 350 – 375 square feet. Our Junior Suites are about 420 square feet and our Tower Suite is 575 square feet.
Does your hotel have any smoking rooms?
The Landsby is a 100% smoke free hotel and there is a $250.00 smoking fee for anyone identified as smoking in the rooms.
Do you have a Lost & Found?
Anything lost or left behind will be taken to either our front desk or housekeeping department and held for a limited amount of time. Please contact the hotel front desk if you have lost something at the hotel at 805.688.3121.
Does The Landsby have conference and banquet space available?
We do have three rooms available for conferences and banquets. To inquire about rates and availability please contact reservations at 805.688.3121.
Is there a local shuttle or taxi service available in the area?
